MARINE: Liaison led article published in Elementa describes how the program prepares rising ocean leaders to take action
Two former Monterey Area Research Institutions Network for Education (MARINE) co-chairs (Joshua G. Smith and Meredith L. McPherson, UCSC) recently published a paper that describes how the cross-campus professional development program of MARINE prepares rising ocean leaders to take an active role in interdisciplinary environmental problem-solving. The paper also describes how the MARINE model can be widely adopted by other institutions. Read the publication here.
MARINE is a regional coalition of institutions between UC Santa Cruz, CSU Monterey Bay, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University, Stanford University, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and the Naval Postgraduate School.
