Join a New Generation

Applications are now open for Fall 2025 entry into the Graduate Program in Coastal Science and Policy (CSP) at the University of California Santa Cruz. This program is tailored for rising leaders to develop interdisciplinary solutions to challenges facing coastal communities and ecosystems around the world.

See how CSP stands apart from other programs!

The two-year Masters of Science program prepares students to identify, innovate, and implement scalable and socially just solutions to climate, biodiversity, and other sustainability challenges in coastal zones around the world.

Year 1 Students take interdisciplinary courses in natural and social sciences, economics, policy analysis, coastal governance, leadership, innovation, and methods for designing scalable solutions to complex problems.
Year 2 Students engage with partner organizations to co-design and pursue individual capstone projects that develop solutions for real problems. Projects may be based around the world.
