Entrepreneurship + Ocean/Coastal Conservation Course
Learn Lean Launchpad and other Lean Design techniques for startup success to tackle complex problems critical to saving our oceans and coasts with an interdisciplinary team of students from across campus. Offered each year in Spring and open to graduate and undergraduate students across all UC campuses.
Hacking for Oceans is a course that teaches students how to apply innovative, startup-style thinking to tackle challenges related to the ocean and coastal environments. Interviewing potential customers, stakeholders and experts is an important component of the course. The class also requires the students to:
– Visually map and illustrate the problems they’re exploring;
– Develop visual, low-resolution prototypes of the solutions they’ve designed;
– Create and refine a value proposition canvas;
– Create and refine a business model cavas.
