Dammed reservoirs on the Klamath River were lowered this week as the largest dam removal in U.S. history entered a critical phase. Brook Thompson, a Coastal Science and Policy PhD designated emphasis student, spoke about the importance of a healthy river on NPR’s All Things Considered. “Yurok spirituality and Yurok ways of life cannot exist without having the salmon here,” Thompson said.
