On Saturday, November 8th, CSP Programs and Workforce Development Director, Sarah Eminhizer, wrapped up hosting the third Coastal Climate Resilience Course for Working Professionals.

This session brought together working professionals from across the US for the ten week course-including participants from as far as Alaska, Hawaii and New York. This hybrid course, offered with 9 weeks of virtual live-online sessions and a 2.5 day in-person workshop held in Santa Cruz, California has now trained more than 90 working professionals from around the US and plans are in motion for its fourth offering starting March 2026.

Participants heard from leaders in the climate resilience space and tackled real-world problems sourced by their peers in small groups during the in-person workshop.

As one participant shared:

“This course was exactly what I was hoping for: an opportunity to enhance my knowledge of coastal resilience strategies, case studies, funding opportunities, and approaches to equitable community engagement. There was an excellent line up of expert presentations as well as opportunity to engage with peer colleagues also doing this challenging work.”

While the course to date has focused on domestic climate resilience professionals, there is interest and intent to grow our offerings in the future for international participants.
