Talanoa 1
CSP co-hosted Dr. Alifereti Tawake, a Fijian Indigenous leader and Co-Founder & Executive Director at Locally Managed Marine Area International Network, as part of the Pasifika Talanoa Series.  Talanoa (“talk” or “discussion” in Fijian, Samoan and Tongan) is a Pacific Island form of dialogue that brings people together to share opposing views without any predetermined expectations for agreement. Talanoa participants set the parameters for their discussions: inclusion, reconciliation and mutual respect. Participants learned from Dr. Tawake’s work during the Talanoa and CSP DE student Alissa Takesy prepared and led a traditional kava session.
