We’re looking for the next generation of coastal science and policy leaders!
The Coastal Science & Policy Program (CSP) at UC Santa Cruz is now accepting applications for its fourth MS cohort.
For the 2021 class, we’re seeking motivated students who are excited to engage in collaborations with practitioners, in real world settings, that work towards solving some of today’s most wicked social-environmental problems.
The Coastal Science and Policy Program at the University of California at Santa Cruz is a unique interdisciplinary program educating rising leaders to identify, innovate and advance scalable coastal sustainability solutions from land to sea. Our students go on to pursue new initiatives for coastal sustainability and marine conservation outcomes, and to steward non-profits, government agencies, and private sector organizations in developing innovative sustainability programs.
We offer two programs of study, a two-year masters of science and a Ph.D. designated emphasis. The PhD Designated Emphasis allows PhD students from other UC Santa Cruz departments to apply for a Designated Emphasis in Coastal Science and Policy (learn more about the PhD DE here). Graduates of both of these programs will help ensure that the interdisciplinary knowledge and insights generated by coastal scientists and practitioners inform real-world solutions and create measurable, scalable change.
We encourage both U.S. and international students to apply, as well as students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. Based on financial need and program resources, the program offers a limited number of fellowships for tuition and living expenses or a combination thereof.
For more information, or to apply, refer to the Prospective Students web page, and inquiries about the program may be directed to csp@ucsc.edu.
Applications for the Fall 2021 cohort open October 1, 2020, and close December 10, 2020 at 8:59 PM PST.
