Deti Triani at Forum 1

Deti Triani, CSP class of 2026 (far left in above photo), joined the delegation to support Indonesia’s participation in the Arafura and Timor Seas Ministerial Forum this past December in Sydney, Australia. Deti worked closely with the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. TheATS Ministerial Forum marked a new chapter for the Arafura and Timor Seas—uniting for a sustainable blue economy. The forum was hosted by Australia’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water.

Prior to Deti joining CSP, she was entrusted with the role of Interim National Project Coordinator for the National Coordinating Unit (NCU) Indonesia of the UNDP/GEF/PEMSEA ATSEA-2 Project. Her role was to ensure that all key deliverables are completed at the end of the project by preparing essential documents for the project’s remaining activities. One of her responsibilities was supporting Indonesia’s participation in the Arafura and Timor Seas Ministerial Forum (ATS MF).  She provided support in developing brief notes for the Minister. She was involved in intensive discussions with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF)—working closely with the National Project Director, the BPPSDM team, and the Bureau of Public Relations and Foreign Cooperation to draft Brief Notes, country position, and speeches for the Minister and Vice Minister.

“I was honored to be called to join the delegation, led by H.E. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. Formally part of the Indonesian Delegation, Deti supported the finalization of notes for the Minister and assisted the Indonesia delegation onsite in Sydney. She also provided key information to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help strengthen Indonesia’s position during the forum.

“Even though this event was related to my previous position before studying at CSP—after completing one quarter at CSP, I feel a significant improvement in my communication abilities,” said Deti.  “I applied what I learned in Facilitation for Change, where I had to explain most essential information to a very high-level and important person (the Minister of MMAF) in a very short amount of time. During the forum, I also explored current issues to be addressed in my second-year capstone project at CSP.”

“I am also very grateful to have very supportive faculty members and professors that supported my decision to respond to the call from my country,” said Deti.
